About

Alice is a writer-director from the West Midlands based in London who is all about stories that generate empathy.

Alice currently works as a Junior Director and Producer for Rural Media. In this role, she has directed films for Women’s Aid, Shropshire Council and BBC4. In 2020 Alice wrote and directed Testimony as part of the BBC New Creatives scheme and in 2021 she was selected as part of Papaya Young Directors. Her BFI Network short Barricade has begun its festival run in BIFA and Academy Award qualifying festivals this year. For broadcast, she has directed an episode of The Read for BBC4 and Shakespeare’s Sonnets: A Modern Love Story for the BBC’s ambitious season celebrating 400 years since Shakespeare’s First Folio. She is nominated for Off Screen Breakthrough at this year’s RTS Midlands Awards. Alice wants to make the industry a more accessible space, and in her spare time she co-runs the Girls in Film Screenwriting Group, a space for emerging screenwriters to share their writing.
